    • Hi m, The 23rd date is the regular dividend ex-dividend date, the 27th is a potential capital gains distribution date–very unlikely to happen. ETFs are very tax efficient, partly because they usually avoid capital gains distributions. They tend to have low turn-over in their portfolio and they when they do redeem (exchange stock for cash with the AP they can use high basis stock to avoid capital gains.
